A movement dedicated to supporting founders, CEOs, and business leaders scaling high-growth ventures across Western Canada.
Plenty of programs celebrate start-ups. ScaleUP is for what comes next: the companies that are hiring, exporting, opening new markets and carrying a region’s economy with them. The Awards recognize what Finalists have built, then keep them connected to events, advice and peers at the same stage of growth.

The program
Founded in 2024 by Dr. Simon Raby at Mount Royal University in Calgary, ScaleUP began as ScaleUP Week, a week-long celebration of business growth that culminated in the ScaleUP Awards Gala.
Today, ScaleUP brings together Western Canada’s growth companies through the Awards, the Summit and regional events. It also publishes research on how companies grow and hosts the ScaleUP Community, a year-round network that keeps these companies connected.
